What changes are you trying to make? (e.g. Adding or removing code, refactoring existing code, adding reports)

I have added shell scripts to automate file processing and created a script to move files based on their extensions.

What did you learn from the changes you have made?

I became more familiar with bash commands, making directories, creating and writing to .txt files, copying and removing files based on their filenames or file extension codes.

Was there another approach you were thinking about making? If so, what approach(es) were you thinking of?

No. I was simply following the guidance of the assignment 1 instructions.

Were there any challenges? If so, what issue(s) did you face? How did you overcome it?

Getting familiar with git and its associated concepts of pulling and pushing from cloud to local repositories.

How were these changes tested?

I tested my changes in a local separate testing directory to ensure code ran and outputted successfully. Once pushed to the assignment branch, the automated tester verified correctness of code and outputs.

A reference to a related issue in your repository (if applicable)

N/A

Checklist

  • I can confirm that my changes are working as intended
  • I have tested the script with different file types, and it works as expected
