Environment Setup

Run this script to add necessary directoires to path

  1. setup_env.sh

Build commands

Setup, download binary toolchain

  1. ./build/setup.sh
  2. cd docker, install Quartus (both QuartusLiteSetup and SoCEDSSetup, eventually this will be dockerized)

BSP (FPGA image and bootloaders, Linux kernel, root file system)

  1. cd bsp
  2. ./de10-nano-build.sh all

FPGA image and bootloaders only

  1. cd bsp/de10-nano-hardware
  2. make all
  3. make sd-create-image-netboot (or sd-create-image to include fpga and device tree)

FPGA image

  1. cd bsp/de10-nano-hardware
  2. make rbf
  3. make doesn't pickup all change, rm stamp/17.1/quartus.stamp if needed to trigger rebuild

Linux kernel and root file system

  1. cd bsp/de10-nano-software
  2. ./build.sh

Copy FPGA image, device tree, Linux, and root file system to tftp and nfs

  1. cd bsp
  2. ./build.sh copy_to_server

Copy bootloaders to sd card

  1. dd if=sdcard-netboot.img of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=2048
  2. sync

Application Software

  1. cd host/vxi11-cmd
  2. make
  3. cd host/vxi11-device-logic-analyzer
  4. make

Simulation Commands

  1. runSVUnit -t avalon_source_tester_unit_test.sv -s modelsim
  2. Check console output
  3. If needed, run vsim to open gui

Output files

Bootloader image: bsp/de10-nano-hardware/sd-card-netboot.img

Host vxi11 command tool: out/host/vxi11-cmd/bin/vxi11-cmd

Device vxi11 logic analyzer service: out/device/vxi11-device-logic-analyzer/bin/vxi11_svc
