Curates the The Opposition Movement and Groups (OMG) Dataset
omg A country-campaign-phase structure. This is how the individual campaigns are coded and finalized by the coders
omg_my A country-campaign-year structure. Each campaign is expanded by every year it is active. The external datasets are merged into the dataset at the country-level. Note that when countries have multiple campaigns, country-level variables are duplicated.
omg_cy A country-year structure only including country-years that had an active OMG campaign, summarizing the OMG-variables into counts, min/max-values, and dummy-variables. For example,
cy_omg A country-year dataset of the countries and years covered by the current coding. It differs from omg_cy in that this dataset also includes country-years where there are no active campaigns. All OMG-variables take the value 0 whenever there are no campaigns.
omg_coverage This is an overview document that shows what countries have been coded so far. It also shows the first- and last years with an active campaign, and the first and last year which the coding has covered. These timelines differ if there are years without any active campaigns but where the coders did look for campaigns. It also shows if a country has been coded for the historical period, contemporary period, or both.
V-Dem: V-Dem defines the sampling frame for the coding process. Only country-years that exists in V-Dem are included in cy-omg and omg_cy. The whole V-Dem shabang including external variables is included.
Banks CNTS: The Cross-National Time-Series Data Archive (CNTS) by Banks is added using World Bank IDs. Most likely, more countries could be merged in, but it would require to go through the country definitions. Country definitions in CNTS is difficult to obtain.
