M.Sc. Student in Computer Science | Researcher | Educator
I am a Computer Science researcher and educator currently pursuing my Master of Science (M.Sc.) at the University of Calgary. With a background as a Senior Lecturer and over 7 years of academic experience, I bridge the gap between complex theoretical concepts and real-world software solutions.
My passion lies in applying Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning to healthcare and bioinformatics, specifically in medical imaging and genetic data compression.
- Academic Excellence:
- Awarded a Full Funded Scholarship at University of Calgary for the duration of two years Master's Program.
- Awarded a Full Merit Scholarship at Islamic University of Technology for the full duration of my undergraduate studies.
- National Trainer: Selected as a Trainer for the SEIP-BASIS Project (Ministry of Finance), where I taught Software Architecture and Design and contributed to national competency standards.
- Research Impact: I have authored or co-authored 14+ research publications, including papers accepted at IEEE conferences and high-impact journals like Neural Computing & Applications.
- Communication: Achieved an IELTS Band Score of 8.0, demonstrating high proficiency in international communication.
- Graduate Assistant - Teaching at Department of Computer Science at University of Calgary.
- Senior Lecturer (on study leave) at Stamford University Bangladesh
- Adjuct faculty member
- Islamic University of Technology
- Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology
- Sonargaon University
- Trainer at SEIP Tranche-3 under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Finance, governed by BASIS
- Web Developer and Server Admin at XeonBD
I am currently working on advanced computer vision and machine learning techniques to solve critical problems:
- Rare disease identification using multimodal health related data and application of deep learning techniques.
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Classification: Developed an Enhanced Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) to classify ASD, recently presented at IVCNZ 2025.
- Medical Imaging Analysis: Supervised a novel work utilizing Deep Learning to detect bone fractures and classify diabetic retinopathy.
- Bioinformatics: Creating novel algorithms for DNA/RNA sequence compression using Deep Learning and arithmetic encoding, achieving breakthrough compression rates.
- Image Processing: Developed an end-to-end deep learning pipeline to segment laboratory aparatus in real world laboratory settings.
Domains & Tools:
- Machine Learning/Deep Learning: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, Keras, OpenCV.
- Web Development: MVC Architecture, E-commerce Solutions, ERP Systems, Wordpress.
- Academic Tools: LaTeX, Zotero, Octave.
- Data Scraping for E-commerce, Newspaper and Education Systems: As a supervisor, led a team to build user friendly data scraping for different types of systems to mine useful data for a recommendation system.
- Genetic Data Compression: A supervised thesis project utilizing a custom deep learning architecture to achieve an 8% reduction in bits-per-base compared to state-of-the-art methods.
- Movie Recommendation System: Built a recommendation engine inspired by Netflix/YouTube algorithms, correlating user behavior with viewing patterns.
- Office Management System (ERP): Led a team to build a scalable ERP system handling procurement, inventory, and HR for business clients.
