📘 Introduction

GoBuddy is built to help you reach AI faster. We all have a few go-to prompts, and jumping out of your current page just to retype them in ChatGPT is pure torture. With one click, GoBuddy gives you what you need without breaking your focus.

⚡ Quick Start

1. Authorization

• If you see the message your system couldn't verify GoBuddy the first time you open it, rest assured that GoBuddy is safe to use.

• Windows

  • Click More Info
  • Click Run Anyway

• macOS

  • Click the question-mark icon in the top-right to open Tips
  • Select Done
  • In Tips, choose Open Privacy & Security settings for me
  • Scroll to GoBuddy was blocked to protect your Mac
  • Click Open Anyway, then open GoBuddy
  • GoBuddy requests Accessibility permission; click Open System Settings
  • Toggle the switch next to GoBuddy

2. Add Your OpenAI API Key

• Open Settings
• Paste your OpenAI API key (starts with sk-)
• This key lets GoBuddy connect to the AI

3. Record Your Hotkeys

• In the main window, choose a shortcut type
  • Inline replaces your highlighted text directly
  • Popup shows a floating response window
• Click Record Hotkey and press your shortcut
• Hotkeys work from any app

4. Create Your Presets

• Click + Add Preset
• Name your preset
• Add the instructions you want GoBuddy to follow (translate, rewrite, summarize, etc.)
