help with download and setup

I'm having trouble downloading and setting up the FLEX program on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I'm able to download the sips-master.zip folder and setup the bash shell changes, but when I try to execute the sb-flex script it cannot find the other programs or scripts necessary. Is there any programs that FLEX requires on the system before setup or any steps I may be fudging?

Sorry for the late reply!
I am one of the administrators of this software.
In the very near future we are planning to release a new version of our software encapsulated into a virtual machine based on Ubuntu 12.04 that should alleviate most of these issues. I am happy to try and support you with this installation as best I can, or if you are not in a huge hurry, I am happy to provide you with the updated package as soon as it is ready for release. We anticipate this should be by the end of the year at the latest.
Please let me know your preference.

Thank you for getting back to us!
We were hoping to use the flex program to analyze some white matter
hyperintensities, but would ideally need it for a presentation in about a
month (we have been trying a few other programs with no success). So while
we would love the encapsulated software when it becomes available, if we
can get it set up sooner, that would be best.
I have downloaded the provided material from the github website, but I'm
not sure how to get it up and running. Is it source code? Do I need any
compiling programs? I'm not well-versed in computers, so if you are
available, could provide some pointers on how to set up the program.
Detailed terminal commands would be really helpful as we also use Ubuntu
12.04 LTS. :)
