Vfs cache full not working on android 15

I am trying to set up a remote webDAV server for streaming music.

This doesn't cache even if i set

vfs_cache_mode = full
vfs_cache_max_size = 5G
vfs_cache_max_age = 365d
dir_cache_time = 365d

In rclone config

No caching causes extreme lag while streaming and also, no offline access.

This app doesn't even ask for storage permissions.

Does rclone even support setting those mount options in rclone.conf? I couldn't find them in the documentation.

rclone has a pretty flexible system of configuration sources. You can set most command-line flags in rclone.conf https://rclone.org/docs/#globalconfig

Note how the global flag name loses its initial -- and gets - replaced with _ and gets a global. prefix.

Any global variable can be set like this and it is exactly equivalent to using the equivalent flag on the command line. This means it will affect all uses of rclone.

OP might need to add global. in front of all variables

Coming back to this, rclones support for that might actually be too new for the version of rclone included in the app

I didnt realize at the time but the feature seems to have been introduced in 1.71 and the app only includes 1.68.0

However its possible to compile the app yourself and update the version number. I've done this myself and the apps been working for me with the current latest rclone v1.72.0

Compiling android apps can be annoying though and I'm not a "how-to guide" so YMMV.
